This one's a little different from what I usually draw. I guess I'm a horror artist now.
It's an idea I've had for a while, but wasn't sure how to execute. Then I was tasked with drawing Henrietta on a forum game and thought that I might as well finish it. Did not regret this at all, I really like the result and it was fun to draw. Also discovered that I can make some pretty rad effects with just the fingertip tool, which I never used before, but now it's my new favorite thing.
If you don't get it, this piece is an attempt at depicting Histrionic Personality Disorder, or more specifically the emotional aspect of it. I don't personally have it (try another cluster B disorder), but it is crucial for me as a writer to research and understand what I'm writing about.
I find it rather ironic that this PD is one of the more invisible ones, to the point that not many people have even heard about it. Especially considering how common HPD-coded characters are in popular media, even though they usually aren't the best in terms of representation. So I'm doing my best not to fall into the same traps and instead apply a more grounded in reality approach, which involves hearing the stories of actual people with HPD as part of my research.
By the way... Could there be more to these masks than may seem at first glance?
